Life - Her Way!
I thought it was about time I added a new post. I clearly haven't been keeping this up. Life has been a little trying lately. I am grateful to have the support of family and friends to get me through this emotional roller coaster. I'm exhausted emotionally and have found sleep almost impossible. My dear Great Aunt is dying of breast cancer at the ripe age of 81. I should be so lucky to make it to 81 and be as loved and adored as she is. She's had a tough life, but she's lived it her way. Her cancer has spread to her lungs and every breath has become laboured. The doctor informed us last Friday that it should be any day now. She has accepted her fate, but her body is not ready to give in quite yet. I sat next to her while she slept the last few days and thought about her life. She's been on her own since I can remember. She likes a dash of salt in her beer (because it takes the froth out), she likes her rum and diet cokes and loves Bingo. She has more things she "doesn't like", than she does (trust me we all know), but that's what makes us love her. To be 81 and "do it her way". Love you Auntie Mickey ♥
